What the hell am I going to do when they have TWO MONTHS off?

Well, tomorrow it is back to the grind - school, music classes, soccer, swimming, skating, poking my eyes out with a sharp stick....

I have enjoyed the holidays with the kids, but I am thankful to be getting back into routine. The only one who has had anything resembling a routine in this house over the last two weeks has been Renee - she could get all her naps, eat in her high chair for all her meals and not worry about being carted here and there. Tomorrow that all changes - and I hope I am not in a world of hurt once Renee's routine gets all out of whack.

Ethan loves school and he is so excited to be going back. I am not sure if I have mentioned it before but I just ADORE his teacher. I am lucky that I get to help out in the classroom from time to time and I am just gobsmacked at how much the kids are learning. Such a change from preschool - I didn't care for his teacher at all (although Ethan liked her so that is all that really matters). I am all about fun when kids are learning, and his teacher is just amazing at ensuring the kids are having fun and learning all at the same time.

Nicholas can't wait to get back to preschool either - he just loves his teachers (different than Ethan's) and I think he is a bit sick of looking at me all day.

I have no idea what the hell I am going to do with them over the summer, I just wish they could go to school year-round (like they do in New Zealand). I guess I have a few months to figure it out...

I'm dreading summer here unless I can find some inexpensive activities. Everything is so expensive to join around here...at least for my pocketbook.

I am with you and am all for year round schooling. I think it's best for the kids and the parents. I'll take small breaks in between semesters. Those I can deal with much easier than trying to decide what I can do to keep everyone happy for 2 1/2 months.
